Cigar Aficionados' of BITOG, what are you enjoying?

Yeah, tried it for a few years as I read similar. Still happened when power went out & storage area rose above 85F for a couple days. Happened to my brother as well & he was also storing in the freezer for a few days prior to placing in humidor.

You got all those in? ****! I only get a bunch in when I have long drives which isn't often.
Have my brother in town & company over from down the street. My brother, neighbor & I all smoke cigars. Hung out on the back patio with our wives & had some drinks & cigars. Stayed up WAY too late just chatting & catching up. Had my son (16) & neighbors oldest (17) watching the younger kids. Was a nice break & great time.

As fun would have it, I finally went through my pipe's box today to check what else is there, and it turned out that what I thought was some piece of makeup was actually something else.

Given that this box is mostly a time capsule, I'd say it must be 20ish or so years old. Maybe less if my better half added it later, but it's very unlikely that it would be less than 15 years old.

It was closed tight in that yellow box, and the wooden box is tight too, but there was no cellophane so I don't know. Would it be still good for something?

PS: The pics are not too good. It says Cohiba on the ring, but it doesn't have the little Cohiba logo above it like the newer ones have. I wonder if there's a way to find the year...

Thanks, this would help me timestamp it, my brother visited Cuba when it was open for visiting, must have been a bit under 10 years ago. So would that thing still be good for anything, or should I just keep it as a souvenir?

If you have a humidor, put it in there--I like to keep my cigars at 70 percent humidity. If no humidor try putting in a jar with a damp sponge for a while but don't let the sponge touch the cigar. It will take a while--a few weeks or longer. If that doesn't work and its still to dry or cracking then keep it as a souvenir, but its a shame to waste it as such.
