when i first seen the 0w-40 in late 97 it was 52.50 per 5 gal. i used it a few times in my powerstroke (7.3). at the time i couldn't justify all of that extra money for just oil, so i stopped using it. about two years ago i decided to try it in my 6076 jd, (long story in another post) price had increased to about 105 per 5 gal., i looked at the pail and it had date it had been filled, 11/12/97!!!!!!!!!!!, same batch i had bought 10 years earlier for 52.50!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cried foul but to no avail.

if could get the 0w40 today for 52.50 id back the truck up,i love the CI4 for my tractors and atv's,need to really stock up.

$20.50/gal for the 0W40 is still not too much. I pay $32.60/gal for Delvac 1 SHC 5W40. I bought 55 gal last year in 5 gal jugs. If it gets a PGOS or MB rating I might use it.

yeah i know about the price of mobil 1 shc, i use the straight 40 wt for 2 of our transmissions, its around $150 for 5 gal. i think someone told them that they were the only manufacturer in the world that makes a straight 40 wt syn.
