So I was at a red light, my car starting acting like it was going to stall, almost like if you where running out of gas, either it was lacking gas or air, don't know if it's a computer type issue or what. But it really started to rattle and shake my car. It only last 3 to 4 seconds and actually never completely stalled, it recovered somehow. I had gas in the tank, so I know that wasn't the issue, what can cause this type of thing. It's the first time in 57000 miles.

I'm not very familiar with this engine, but if it uses an idle air control valve it could be sticking.

Any number of little quirks could cause that to happen. With no code to go on, all we can do is guess.

If it was a one time freak incident, I wouldn't worry about it. A couple years and probably 30K miles ago my truck stalled completely out of the blue as I was pulling into my driveway. I made the turn and the engine just shut off. It started right back up and never did it again, no codes or CEL.

Hummmm, a lot of things: dirty air filter, cut or loose vacuum hoses, shorted out spark plug wires, dirty throttle valve, bad spark plugs, bad gas (had you just filled up?), clogged exhaust or catalytic converter, bad fuel filter . . .

Can you check your codes ?

Do the Key dance and pull codes?

when was hte last time you cleaned the Throttle Body?

Well, if you go by tendencies then the most likely culprit is the purge valve in the evap system.

Many 300 owners have experienced this, it's the first thing to check.

Were you running the defroster? Gas is so commonly misformulated these days you are lucky if any car runs at all. You may have got a gulp of watery ethanol thats was siting on the bottom of your tank and sloshed up at the stop. Like Steve says above if there is a common issue check that - the ecu may have been slow at shutting down the EGR then the evap purge may have simultaneously actuated then the deforsted pulled on the compressor and the sluggish ECT couldnt cope. If its not endemic I would place that on ignore for now.

Some times I think it is the Gas. Every once in a Blue Moon at one of those pesky long lights, I get a stumble for a second.

Thanks I will look into that for sure.

It very well could be, that is what I was thinking.

I had my heater set for auto. Matter a fact, they heater did just kick in around that time.

My Mother has an '04 Maxima, when it was around 1-2 years old she called and said it had done the same thing, and was asking me what it could be. It hasn't done it again since.

I thinking had a bad batch of gas or something. It starting to spark knock at idle for about few seconds again but not so intense..Filled it up with some Mobil gas, we shall see how she goes for awhile. Might hit it with some dry gas if happens again. Could be way off base, but I have no indicator light coming on.

Was this stumble in any way related to moisture exposure? Was it raining? Did it sit outside in the rain overnight? Did you just wash the car or take it through a car wash?

So very true, didn't think about that.
