not really. the euro horizon carried over the ancient simca torsion bar suspension at the last minute because they did not want to spend money.

the chassis is pretty much identical save for the tooling differences. the huge wheel gap in all horizons is to allow for american snow chains
 
I had a 1987 Lancer 2.2 that I bought for $400 from a lady that quick driving. Was a good little car and, to this day, had the coldest A/C of any vehicle I've owned.
