The samples of this M1 AFE 0W-30 for both labs were taken from the same 5 qt jug, one after the other at almost the same point in the pour midway through the bottle. The oil was purchased from and delivered by Amazon only 1 day prior to the sample being taken. I finally got the horizon test kits I ordered back in July through Amsoil and I wanted to compare results between SpeeDiagnositx and Horizon using as few variables as possible.

Thank you!!!!!!

@2.7ecoboostFordBronco did you request that SD rerun the sample?

No, because of the remark on the original report where they said the additive level variance was normal, I was afraid they wouldn’t want to do a rerun, so I didn’t ask. I will have another 3500-4000 mile AFE sample for them in a few weeks. I think I will send this one to SD, blackstone, and Horizon/OA for fun and because I have way too many test kits that I already paid for.

After that I’m switching to HPL premium plus PCMO 0W-30 in one 2.7 and I think Valvoline restore and protect 5W-30 in the other and will probably just use Horizon.

I didn’t realize that Speediagnostix and blackstone aren’t ASTM certified labs whereas Horizon/OA is. Even if I had known that I didn’t think it’d make the results so different.

I’ve moved over to Horizon/OAI exclusively at this point, as well. Value and quality seem to be top of the heap.

The SD report here is disappointing. And IMO, if I had any Blackstone kits left, I’d throw them away.
