I have a 2001 Chevy Prizm with the 1.8 Corolla engine. It uses 1 1/2 quarts of oil per 1,000 miles. It has been doing this for a long time. There are NO leaks at all. It smokes upon hard acceleration and the spark plugs do not look too great. I have read about "stuck oil rings" with this engine. I also read that certain products can loosen these stuck rings. What product do you suggest and how do I go about using it? Other than this, it has been a good car. I would like to keep it as long as I can. I am the original owner and it has 170,000 miles on it.
