ChevSupreme vs Formula Shell (.49 oil)

Are these oils about the same additive pack wise? Is there a reason to pick one or the other?

Ive used them both, and had good results with each of them.

My engines are quiet, hold oil pressure, and work nicely for a 4000 mile OCI. At 49c/qt, what's not to love?????

Flip a coin and use em!!!

I go with whatever coupon Schucks has that week, sometimes Shell, sometimes Chevron, both good oils.

.49 is the best oil, esp for the price

My best UOA in my 2000 Silverado 4.8l 4x4 was with Chevron. That is over Pennzoil conventional (2nd) QS (3rd) and Mobil 1 (worst).

Never ran Shell in it so I can not comment.

But either is a excellent oil. Esp for the price.

Love Shell, works well and is very reasonable. IMO both their engine and transmission oils are excelent esp for the price.

I've been using Chevron ever since BITOG turned me onto it a few years back. Lately it's been Shell on sale, so I've bought a few cases of that. Use the Chevron on my cars and the Shell on everyone else's.

Seen lots of uoa's around various forums with Chevron Supreme. It posts some good wear numbers (dino) I think I would go with that...
