I'm thinking about switching over from Mobil 1 to either Chevron Supreme or Chevron Supreme Synthetic. Do you guys think the extra $4.00 a quart for the synthetic is worth it? The only place I found the synthetic was at the local Chevron stations.

My car only has a 2 7/8 sump size. I haven't gone over 5K with the Mobil 1. I want to stay with a synthetic because of the small sump. If you guys think the regular Supreme can last the 4K-5K with a small sump. Let me know.

I have a 1.8 in my Sentra. I guess if Chevron Synthetic was the same price as RTS, then maybe it would be a great buy. I priced out the Delo Synthetic 5W-40 at Napa. They wanted $120.00 for a case.

I was referring to the Chevron Syn that Finklejag said he saw at his local Chevron gas station.

If you have any Advance Auto Parts in your area...

check and see if they still have any Havoline Synthetic on clearance. I bought 2 cases @ 79 cents per quart on closeout.

My Bad. the 0w30 i was thinking is delo. i should have thought about that. i guess i have never run across the chevron 0w30.

You would be impressed about good ol 5w30 Chevron supreme/Havoline,,good lube change out at 5k and good filter and good results will happen,Trop-Artic is also a good bang for the buck at 5k or so,both are one of the best box store oils.at these change outs your engine will last ,now Schaeffers is a couple of levels up,even over most common Synts.,,now Amsoil is a notch up again with a similar crowd of blenders.money and change outs mean something, though Im not a beliver in long 25k changeouts in the real world of driving.BL
