I picked up 10qts of Chevron Supreme (5w30) a few weeks back when O'Reillys had their sale. It's the first time I've used a Chevron product and I must admit, I do think it's a sleeper.

My Miata has never run better. Very smooth. Yeah, I know it's probably a placebo effect taking place here. But still, I'm impressed.

I'm wondering if this is the "twin" of Havoline oil? I think I'll be looking out for more deals on Chevron oils.

Anyone have a similar experience? I can't wait to do a UOA down the road.

Yes it is the same oil. Chevron merged the lines in 2012. I am running Havoline in my Trailblazer now. It definitely runs very smoothly on it. It is very thin in grade in the 30w variants, almost just a thick 20w.

Any info on that cleaning additive? Wondering if its as good as techron turned out to be. Could be a sleeper cleaner oil.

If I'm not mistaken, the SM version was loaded with moly and the SN is not...

That's correct. The SM version was also on the light side for each grade, but the SN version is closer to the middle of the range for each grade.

Thanks guys for the info. I didn't know it was on the thin side. I still like how it feels. Future UOA's will tell.
