Chevron Supreme and GM Piston Slap

Does anyone GM engine, mainly the 5.3, still clatter a little at start-up and idle with Chevron Suprere. Reason Im asking, is my last oil change was my first with Supreme and my engine was dead quiet. Today it was changed again with Supreme (well it was supposed to be, hopefully the GM dealer put it in there) and it back to the same old clatter. Just curious

My 3.1 V-6 seems quieter since it got the Havoline habit.

My 2000 5300 would make a slight clatter at cold start-up. I think I used Valvoline the whole time, but I can't be sure.

I am not sure if it was piston slap or the valve train making noise, but I had NO problems with that engine. Still extremely powerful and quick at 100k miles. Got better fuel mileage, too!

More than a handful of folks here swear that Valvoline Durablend keeps engines "quietist"..... hey I just created a new Merriam Webster dictionary word...lol

Add some VSOT to see if your slap is responding to moly. I thought most GM dealers used Mobil EXXON.
