Polaris flagged the viscosity as "slightly low" and the silicon as being at a "moderate" level. I was happy to see that the fuel dilution is now normal. The car was driven a lot harder on this OCI, but wear metals continue to trend downward as the engine loosens up. The car has noticeably more pep down low according to my seat of the pants dyno.

Comments always welcome of course!

Yea-nice trend down. Its too bad there isn't a flashpoint given. That viscosity could still be a symptom of fuel dilution and perhaps they made a mistake. But anyway the numbers are looking much better. I wouldn't go much beyond 5K miles with that shearing down. You might want to hedge your bet and put the Chevron back in after the Mobil Run incase it turns out that oil has thinned out and the fuel dilution shows up. That way you can just go change again at say 3K or so without the extra $$$ of Mobil 1.

2nd report looks good! The first is the reason why I dump factory fills at 1500-2000 miles!

Good job!

It's remarkable how quickly and sharply the wear metals declined. I'm perplexed by the sharp drop-off of sodium and potassium. I wonder why these were so high to begin with?

Cheron 10W30 does not shear down like their 5W30 does. If you are going to do short OCI then Cherons 10W30 will probably make you really happy in this engine!

A lot of OEM's use coolant and other fluids in small amounts to lube hoses for assembly. You also get some leaking at all the gaskets but especialy the head gasket the first time the engine is fired up.

I've noticed that too with the Chevron 5W30 vs Chevron 10W30 with the 5W30 ending up shearing badly.

4.5% fuel
227 silicon

Looks like it was a good idea to get that old oil out.
