I have Castrol Edge HM 5w30 in the car now with a motorcraft filter. I'm thinking of trying a 10w30 next time to see if I can keep it in a 30 weight through 3,000.

Viscosity dropped from 10.19 to 8.88 cSt. Iron and Tin are both a little high, especially for only 3000 miles.

Not bad.. are you going to sample a 10w30 and what brand are you going to run in that weight?
Not sure. I’m considering QD full synthetic 10w30. I was to pull a sample of this Edge HM in there now at about 2800-2900 miles to decide if I should stay with that instead. That gives me time to shop before I have to change it.

Good choices! Either should hold up well in this beast. I've ran 10w-30 in auto's calling for 5w-30 many times. With 5w-30 seemingly getting on the thinner side of viscosity. Thanks for the response.
