If GM has that much vehicle manufacturing dominance, why can't they make an EV that is profitable?
I am not cherry picking anything. I am talking about companies. Comparing the last ten years is cherry picking a start up vs a 100+ year old company. The Bolt was released in 2016 I believe and had the expertise of the legendary GM. "Wait for the big boys to get in."
Who is better poised for the future? If you ask market valuation, well the numbers are brutal.
The Model Y has been one of the best selling cars in the world for years and ain't exactly cheap. Beyond trucks, what's GM got?
In the U.S. market, the Mode Y significantly outsells the Equinox in the EV segment. While the Equinox EV is a popular non-Tesla EV, the Model Y consistently leads in overall EV sales. In the first half of 2025, the Model Y was estimated to have sold around 146,000 units, while the Equinox EV sold approximately 27,749 units. That's brutal.
