Chassis parts quality

I need outer tie rod ends for my Accord.

Local cheapo independent parts shop wants $40 for pair. These are white box parts and are low end chinese parts. I am told these ones are not good quality and cant be relied upon.

Now Part Source has two kinds. Low-end for $50 pair and high end for $150.

Online autopartsway.ca has two kinds and both show a $70 price each, crossed out and reduced to the point where I can get both for with $60 shipped or $70 shipped depending on the one I choose. The cheaper ones manufacturer is listed as "OEM" and the more expensive is "Japan". I have no clue about the true manufacturer of the parts. Am I getting the same cheap chinese knockoffs or servicable ones at a better price online?

I looked up the part numbers on O'Reilly's site then searched Amazon for the part number.

I've never been disappointed with Moog parts.

Definitely the Moog or OEM (not OE brand),your life could be hanging on these components doing their job.

You cant go wrong if you use the best when it comes to steering,suspension and brakes.

If you go into Harbor Freight (I won't) they have all sorts of Chinese brands with All-American names like Central and Chicago and Pittsburgh. Very amusing.

"OE" is a chinese brand sold at advance auto and many other places. They are NOT honda and pretty lousy.

The difference between cheap and good parts is your alignment! You probably won't need one if you use the good stuff. (However if you have a laser level you can check your toe before and after your job.)

Not to mention the dreadful wear, I got about 30-35k from "OE" ball joints.

I have installed "OE brand" chassis parts, and they are cheap garbage. The only instance you should use them is when you don't plan on keeping the car for a long time.

If you want chassis parts from the vehicle manufacturer, buy some Beck/Arnley brand ball joints.

How long did you factory ones last? If they didn't last, buy MOOG. If they lasted, compare the price between MOOG and Beck/Arnley and find out which is cheaper.

Not with any Moog parts I've ever bought.

I'd start looking at the nearest competitor, and hope that it isn't made in China. I'd even look into the stealership!

Anyway, over the last 2 years, I have seen many chassis parts come from India, Turkey, and Indonesia.

That doesn't sound good.

Even factory GM chassis parts are better than that stuff.

The Turkish parts are from Deeza - I have no idea how good they are. They talk up a good game on their website.
