I have made a chart of the first 6 Ultra UOAs posted on BITOG. Five 5w30s and one 5W-20. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to upload the chart as an attachment. Here's a link with the chart attached.

Looks pretty good to me. Wear metals are either low, or much improved. When reported, the TBN looks strong. Viscosity is on the thin side, but that's good for MPG.

Universal averages were reported on 3 of the 6 UOAs. Here's the average UA vs the Avg of all 6 UOAs for wear metals

Al 3.7 v. 5.0*
Chr 1 v. 0.8
Fe 16 v. 10.8
Cu 9.3 v. 4.7
Pb 2 v. 1.3
Tin 1 v. 0.5

So the only category where the avg. UOA exceeded the avg. UA was Aluminum. But that result was impacted by an Al reading of 15 in the Genesis 3.8. Here's the kicker. That Genesis had 3 UOAs done, and the average Al finding was 31. So 15 Al on Ultra was a huge improvement on that car.

If you throw out that 1 Al finding, the Al average drops to 3.0 which is below the 3.7 Universal Average.

Average OCI across 6 samples was 4550 miles.

Updated wear metal counts:

Average of 6 UOAs vs. Average of 4 Universal averages:

Al 5.0 v. 3.5
Chrm 0.8 v. 1.0
Fe 10.8 v. 15.3
Cu 4.7 v. 9.3
Pb 1.3 v. 2.5
Tin 0.5 v. 1.0

Again, Ultra is kicking butt in the wear metals except Al, but that result was skewed by a 2010 Genesis that had a reading of 15 Al. On the Genesis, 2 prior UOAs with different oil averaged 39 Al. So 15 Al was a huge improvement.

One of them started out as a 20 weight (F-150). I see only one that sheared from 30 to 20 - the Traverse.

Depends on where you declare the grade cut-off. If using 9.3cSt, then two others also sheared out of grade, but just barely.

The thing I'm most interested in is TBN retention. The one longish drain (8k mile) is still showing a TBN of almost 6. If more UOA's confirm this good TBN retention, I might consider switching to Ultra once my stock of Platinum is depleted.
