I usually change the oil in the spring when I take the car our of winter storage. This time I decided to change it right before I put it into storage. Everything seems to look good. Wear metals keep going down. In previous posts of UOAs some posters theorized that the higher metals in past UOA was due to long OCI previous to my ownership.

Don't really drive it that hard. Changed the valve covers as they were leaking oil a few weeks before I changed the oil. Took a photo of one bank with the cover off. Besides some staining, looks pretty clean.

While the report says the engine is supercharged, it is not. It's an NA 5.4L engine. Superchargers came in later models of the E55 AMG.

@loneryder — OR… yours had short intervals and the OP had regular intervals. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m sure the cylinder head was even nastier 10,000 miles ago before it had several 2-3k intervals to clean things up a bit.

OR could be the 5.4L was run a lot harder (WOT etc.=Heat) ;)
All 4 of those oil changes only represent around 10k miles. I'd wager it was just run harder & caused higher wear metals. If you ran a 5k interval & drove just like you currently do they would probably not be high like they were. Like they mentioned the Viscosity was a bit low but didn't seem to bother it. Were the other samples the same 0w-40 FS? I longed for one of those E55's about 16 years ago but settled on a 98' Eldorado ETC (only 300 HP).

Yes, all previous oil changes that I did used M1 0W-40 FS. I don't doubt that there were some long OCIs done on this car. I have a feeling that this car would have gone down a path of neglect if it stayed with the previous owner.

When I first got the car the valve covers were leaking and I replaced them. During which I discovered there was sludge built up in those circular holes you see on each side of the intake rockers. The holes don't go anywhere. I think they may be channels to get to the head bolts (not sure). They just pool with oil. I carefully removed all the sludge with cotton swabs. Otherwise, looked like everywhere else was sludge free.
