My 2002 Corolla has the coil over plug ignition with no plug wires at all. How do the coil packs hook onto the plugs and how do you remove them? The coil packs are held onto the valve cover with 2 bolts but does the coil pack snap onto the spark plug like a traditional plug wire? To remove the coil pack, do you just pull up on it like a plug wire? Thanks

yes, just undo the bolt and then pull it right out, just held on by thr rubber of the coil, very tightly i may add

On my Tundra its sounds similar.
There should be a connector at the end of the wire.Take a small plier to squeeze the small lever to unhook the wire from the coil.
That way you are not twisting the small wires to get the coil/boot out of the way.

Got er done. Probably didn't need it but hey, I had to find out how it's done on this car. Used good ol NGK V-power cheapo plugs. Feels like the car has about 20 extra hp now, idle is much smoother, throttle response is actually there now.

I like the coil on plug design. The rubber boot part of the coil actually doesn't even snap onto the plug, it has a spiral spring that simply contacts the top of the plug so removing it was very easy.
