How is MOS different from Auto-RX? Anyone know the chemistry differences and how each is supposed to work?

Any suggestions on where to buy this stuff? I did a quick search and didn't have much luck. It appears to be a European product aimed at that market.

Napa carries it.
As far as how it compares to auto RX I can only comment on what I know for sure and that's auto RX is made for cleaning printing presses, motor oil saver is made for engines.
MOS contains boron too which adds tbn which can lengthen an oil change interval. It also contains esters.
Everything liqui-moly makes works exactly as described. Auto RX is a printing press cleaner.

So where did this come from? Can you back up this statement with some references please?

LUBRO-MOLY & LIQUI-MOLY Oil Savers?

The short answer: Lubro Moly is an MoS2 additive. Motor Oil Saver thickens oil, and has additives to condition seals to help stop leaks. I haven't used the oil saver but heard only good things about it. Torn seals, or very bad leaks will require repair.

Thanks for the response, unfortunately I was (finally!) able to correctly ascertain that they are the same exact product with two different names, depending upon the market...(?)

Both show as 300ml PRODUCT LM2020 same cans but with different labels.

Go figure.

Cheers!

I have had a nearly identical experience with Mobil Super High Mileage oil (5w20 in 5.4L v8 modular ford f350). This is a synthetic blend.

Slight weep and leaving a dime sized spot on my driveway overnight. Now It will leave a drop or two (cardboard) if left for 1.5 to two days or so without being driven. The weep is still there but it isn't dripping, I also haven't ever cleaned it other than wiping it at the last oil change (about 3,500 miles ago).

My prior consumption (on 5w20 Mobil 1 full syn and PYB) was .75qt per 1,500 miles. Or about 1.5 qts at 3k.

Current HM oil is in the engine for 3,500 miles, at which I added 1/2qt at around 800 miles when it was slightly low. It is still at the perfect full level after running it the current 3,500k. I check it every three days after sitting overnight in the same spot. I also check it when I get gas, the oil is surprisingly still golden brown.

For the winter I was looking at some full synthetic HM oils, but over the service life of my vehicle it was fleet maintained. I am assuming with Dino oil, and when using MOBIL 1 full syntehtic, it started the weep and the drips. The spots were about twice the size of what happened with pennzoil yellow bottle (which I used after Mobil 1). This has me planning on sticking with the HM oils that are syn blends or full dino flavor. I won't be wavering from the 5w20 weight, what with the cold winters here in NY and the small oil passages in the 5w20 spec'd 5.4l v8 modular.

I planned on running the same Mobil Super HM oil over the winter. I have heard good things about this Pennzoil HM oil which I might switch to also... Up in the air on a decision.

Does it make sense to do two or three changes with the same HM oil, or is it OK to switch back and forth? Do you think the different additives will help/hurt each other?

I don't think that normally switching oils is dangerous, as many here do as well. Are HM oils any different?

Liqui Moly is the actual name of the German company & subsequently most of their products bear that name in most countries they export to. Lubro-Moly is the U.S. name as it was discovered that another company over here has previously trademarked the "Liqui-Moly" naming convention. Product content wise they are practically identical.
