I'm ready to crawl under my 08 Focus and change out the antifreeze. I've been reading that it is extremely important to not get any air in the system when doing this. What is the trick to keep this from happening? I was simply going to drain the fluid out of the bottom of the radiator and refill the reservoir.

I've never heard that its "extremely important to not get any air in the system".
You have to burp the system to prevent air bubbles from causing issues though, thats about it.

Possibly if you drained the block and radiator, but should not be a problem with just the radiator.
Make sure you add the proper coolant. Ford or Chrysler or Zerex G-05. And distilled water.
Best to pour in a gallon of coolant, a gallon of distilled water, then smaller quantities of each, with coolant always being the first of the two. You can go to 60/40 coolant/water. But 50/50 should be good for most people not living in Antarctica.
Gently squeeze the radiator hoses a few times to get the air out.
Check the level after a full hot then cold cycle.

Is this something read from a Focus enthusiast web site, or something read in general? Generally speaking, it's an issue that is easy to deal with. My method is to top off the coolant every morning until it won't take any more.
