Changed what I assume to be the original shocks on my 02 1500 last night. The shocks that came off had lost their charge and was real easy to compress. The passenger front piston wouldnt come back out after being compressed.

I replaced them with Napa Response shocks, which I understand is the same as Monroe Matic Plus. The difference in ride and control is night and day. Feels like I am driving on toilet paper LOL. The problem I have now is that when I take a bump at low speed, I hear a clunk type noise coming from drivers rear. The best way to describe it would be similar to the spare tire being loose, but mine is tight. It does not make this noise at speeds above 35 or so. I climbed back under there to check everything out and all the bolts were still tight. Any ideas on what could cause this all of a sudden? All I did was undo the two bolts, replace the shock and replace the bolts. If I bounce truck by hand I can faintly hear a noise like it but that sounds like it is coming from bumper.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

look to see if the shock bushing has shifted to one side,i've seen a few with the bushings offset to one side and the metal shock body was hitting the mount and making noise.

I will check that out. I crawled under there earlier and had someone jump on the bumper and bounce the truck. The first few bounces are smooth and than the shock stiffens up and the noise shows up when that happens.
