Changed head - mileage to change oil/coolant?

I had a head gasket leak and changed the head as it had 4 cracks and was swiss cheese.

How long should I go before I replace oil and coolant? I had oil in coolant and coolant in oil ( the latter at about the rate of a typcial GM V6 slow leaker).

For the cooling system I'd run straight water with two teaspoons of automatic dishwashing detergent for a couple rinse cycles. Then straight water and finally an antifreeze mix. The auto detergent won't suds up and will get oil out of your radiator etc. Run the heat so the heater core gets it too.

Oil... whatever cheap you can get your hands on. Change the filter then just unscrew it and dump its contents the next couple changes, then a new filter again for your final change. Warm the car up, drain the oil, and repeat until it comes out clean. Then do it once more. When all is said and done I'd do another change at 1000 miles.
