Change oil filter at 500 miles?

I have now gone about 450 miles into the first treatment of my Saturn SL2 car with Auto-RX. Is it a good idea to change the oil filter at this point, to make sure that it does not plug up? Then I could drive with that new oil filter for the final 300 miles before doing an oil change and oil filter change to complete the 750 mile treatment.

I would let it go for 2k miles.
It will be able to do a better job the only 750.

how bad was ur engine...i just changed mine at 400 to be sure cause i wasnt sure at all...it was only $2 so why not u know...

Unless you have reason to believe the engine had a lot of sludge in it, I'd just run that oil filter for the full 750 miles.

While running Auto-RX in my 155,000 mile Camry, I changed the oil filter at 400 miles and I was very surprised to see how much stuff was caught in the filter. I pulled the valve cover (it's a 4 cyl) off before I added the Auto-RX and the valvetrain was stained dark brown and a little sludge built up in the valve cover.

I'd suggest changing the filter around 400 miles to be safe.
