I am doing an auto-rx treatment on my mother's saturn. Yesterday, at 750 miles in, I changed the filter, and left the oil in (old saturn instructions on the auto-rx site). The car uses about a quart every 1500 miles, but oil consumption has doubled since the addition of auto-rx!!!

It has used a quart in 750 miles.

Has anyone else experienced this? You would not believe the crap that was in the oil filter after that run though, so it must be doing something in there. I looked through the oil filler hole, and there does not seem to be as much sludge in there, but there is still some present.

I am going to run another 750 miles and then change the oil. I am still hopeful that the auto-rx will cure the consumption problem.

It used a quart before the filter change. Sorry, I should have specified that. I had to had another 1/2 quart after the filter change as well.

For continuous and long-term protection, three (3) ounces of Auto-Rx® should be added with each oil change. In addition, you should continue to use non-synthetic oil to maintain the gains realized from this application

Sent you private e-mail on how to get your Saturn to current application format for engines that burn oil.Did you get it ? it's the 3 ounces per oil change that keeps the sludge from coming back.
First you have to clean the engine.

I seriously doubt that... Look at the size of an oil filter and imagine how much junk it can hold. Certinately less than 1 quart. And if an engine had 1 quart of sludge, there is a high probably it'd be in the junkyard by now! LOL

If the AutoRX is liquifying sludge buildup enough to pass through the filter, you just might be freeing up oil capacity. Do you recall how much oil you poured in on your last oil change compared to the published crankcase capacity?

If it was me, I'd add 2 oz. of AutoRX for every quart of make-up oil I add within each cleaning cycle.
