Hallo all
Just today i bought a new oil filter for my 2008 mazda 6 with a 1.8 mzr engine. i bought at a mazda dealer. the mzr engines is likely not sold in the US. but as 2.0 and 2.5 instead
the last time bought a filter, at the same dealer. They gave me a filter with the
part number. lf10 14 302 9a . that one had no ADBV witch make sense since the filter is mounted horizontal.
today they gave a filter with the part number lf10 14 302 9b. a small change in the number, but now suddenly the new type has a ADBV.
i made the dealer double check the number, and it is what mazda spec. also the change in the last letter from A to B makes is sound to me that it supersedes the old number.
however. does anyone here have an idea if the engine might have a problem with a ADBV in the filter it probably was not designed for. might the old type be better for the engine? what do you BITOG,ers think?
thanks
Søren
