Chainsaw carburetor won't suck in fuel

Hi ,
My Remington mighty mite bantam chainsaw carburetor won't suck in any fuel.I pour gas into the carb and it will run but die out.is it perhaps the fuel line? Can this carb be cleaned out? I tried spraying WD 40 in it but no luck still.

Check the fuel lines, a crack will suck air. Check the fuel filter thats in the tank on the end of the fuel line. If they are ok, you may need to take apart the carb, or order another one.

Make sure the hoses fit tightly on the carb and primer bulb. If there's good then you probably need to rebuild the carb.

When they get to this stage, they usually need a kit in the carb and new fuel lines. The in-tank pick-up is usually a weighted fuel filter. Sometimes it gets lodged "up", but usually not. Look in there with flash light....

Do you have a mighty-mite mini vacuum pump (plastic hand held). You can connect it to the fuel line and see if it draws fuel? If so the line is prolly OK. Then it's the diaphragm in the carb.

One other thing is the carb getting a good pulse signal from the crankcase? If that little port gets blocked, it won't work either ...

The fuel lines on my Husq weedeater were getting loose on the nipples and leaking. I put some small o-rings over the ends like little hose clamps and it tightened things up for now.

Replace the fuel lines, don't get them mixed; the primer bulb; and the carb diaphragm.

Like others have said, look at your in fuel tank gas hose/line. If you have ever put E10 or if you stored it with E10 in it, the fuel very well may have eaten a hole in the line causing an air leak, so you lost suction to fuel bowl.

Whether or not you have used E10, this is normally the first place to start on a chainsaw that fails to fuel the carb. Goodluck!

If you have ruled out the fuel lines and loose carb, what I have found in the past is the diaphram in the carb which moves the fuel has hardened up due to age and ethanol. A gasket / diaphram kit to rebuild your carb or a new carb is in order.
