Looks like a worthy competitor to the new Nissan Leaf....

"The Focus Electric, which has a targeted range of 100 miles on a single charge, is Ford’s answer to growing field of electric cars on the market, including the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf. It also is loaded with Ford’s latest communication technology."...

"Ford points out that its charging time with the 240-volt system takes about half as long as the Nissan Leaf, the Focus Electric’s closest competitor."...

"While Ford expects to launch the Focus Electric by the end of this year, the company is stressing that the Focus Electric is just one of five new conventional gasoline-hybrid, plug-in hybrid or electric cars that it will introduce by 2013. “Ford is fully charged,” Mulally said. “Today, we are plugging in more than electric car. We car plugging in the entire Ford Motor Company.”

100 miles would be huge, for a two car house there would be no reason not to have this as a second car. The only worry I have is that this looks like a slam dunk now, but who knows what will be out in three years. It's easy to compare your future with other people's present, pretend it's apples to apples and think you're doing pretty well.

Ford's on a roll, I even like the Explorer everyone else seems to think is horrible (then again we have a 2wd Highlander that we love, which is pretty "soft road" as well). So I hope they can get this out the door soon and so far as execution and production Ford just needs to do they job they seem to be doing everywhere else.
