I would like to know everyone's take on this news? They say these are not COVID related deaths.

Indiana life insurance CEO says deaths are up 40% among people ages 18-64

The head of Indianapolis-based insurance company OneAmerica said the death rate is up a stunning 40% from pre-pandemic levels among working-age people.

“We are seeing, right now, the highest death rates we have seen in the history of this business – not just at OneAmerica,” the company’s CEO Scott Davison said during an online news conference this week. “The data is consistent across every player in that business.”

I’m a little confused as to why they would not know the cause of death. I presume they would require a death certificate in order to pay out? thus they could be collecting that data. Maybe they don't collect that data I guess, but I would they they would, so as spot trends.

"Excess death" is occurring during the pandemic. No other cause of death has seen a significant increase. There are incentives for officials to cover up the cause of a death, but it is impossible to deny that someone is dead.

If it were suicides, life insurance companies would not complain, because they don't have to pay.

There’s usually a 1 to 2 year exclusion for suicide. They pay if the policy has been in force at least that long.

“Root Cause” of death is probably a better term…sure, threw a clot and had a heart attack was the cause but why did the clot form?

Ah, I think I see now. Death certificate might not say all that much. If it wasn’t suspicious, no cause might be listed, as no one checked for a reason.

For the past two years it seems like every death and illness has been chalked up to being covid related. If you fell off a cliff to your death and you happen to have been infected with covid, your death was because of covid. If you get a common cold or flu it's not the common cold or flu, 100% guarantee that you have the delta variant or omnicron.

I've been called a conspiracy theorist several times for my opinion on this matter but I have an inclination to suspect that the excess deaths have something to do with the covid shots. Only time will tell. That is all.

An increase of a little number translates into a larger number percentage-wise.

this is NOT political, just the facts, guns are one of the primary reasons.

it is the elephant in the room that people won't talk about because of politics

it is tragic actually, the US is slowly evolving into something that mirrors the horn of Africa

In fact, 2020 was one of the deadliest years on record for the United States. Gun homicides and non-suicide-related shootings took approximately 19,300 lives, a 25 percent increase from 2019.2 While official 2020 data on all gun deaths is not yet available, an Everytown analysis of data from Gun Violence Archive reveals that gun violence-related deaths in 2020 will likely exceed 40,000, a rate of 12.3 gun deaths per 100,000 people.3 This translates to the highest rate of gun deaths in the last two decades.4

Complete and utter nonsense.

It’s more likely the exact opposite. Underreported.

Another fear mongering article. The article doesn't really say anything other than an insurance company has 40% more claims than normal. Why say that unless you are going to say the causes of death. Suicides are higher than normal and COVID shot are higher than normal. Unless people got more unlucky last year somehow, I know where my money lies.

Across all hospitals in Indiana....the majority of ICU beds are not taken up by COVID-19 patients – just 37% are, while 54% of the ICU beds are being occupied by people with other illnesses or conditions.

Possibly covid related but many people have let treatment or initial visits to check on "something but it's probably nothing" go for fear of contracting covid.

Or the hospital would not or could not see people unless it was related to COVID symptoms.
