Centric or Raybestos rebuilt calipers?

Rebuild your own.

Or find good cores from a junkyard and rebuild them.

Otherwise, good luck...

What kind of car is it?

If you're lucky, you'll be able to get a Raybestos all-NEW caliper! They started making them a couple years ago. Way better than any lazy reman

GM is good about supplying all-new OE calipers for a decent amount of their cars.

Powerstop/Autospecialty rebuilds are coated a nice red color, and the rebuilds are done in Chicago.

If you prefer to buy locally, Napa Eclipse has a nice black coating to stop the rust. Unfortunately, they are Cardone.

Not coated but for $32... Rust not an issue since I'll be selling it and obviously don't know where it might end up.

My original thought but pistons pitted so between new pistons, a seal kit pin kit, bushings, and a hardware kit the parts cost more than a rebuilt caliper.

Pistons sticking.

2002 Insight. Nothing new made.

You're selling it? Then what do you care? Buy what's cheap. I install Centric calipers day in and day out at work, and I've probably gotten 1 bad one out of 50+. The bad ones usually aren't major, mostly it's me not liking the condition of the sealing surface for the crush washers. Would they still seal? Probably. Do I want to avoid a come-back? You bet your behind.

You'll be fine with the Centric's.

None of the Eclipse calipers I have seen were very good looking. They have a thick coat of paint and the usual new parts, but cleanup is poor. They will paint over chunks of rust.

Centric is the way to go for run of the mill remans IMO. They know how to clean them up and/or are more picky with cores.

Totally agree with the Napa Eclipse sentiment. They use WAY too much paint. I get that they're "coated", but c'mon. There's paint in the bolt threads, paint on the bleeder, paint on the piston. It's just too much. Centric might not be top-shelf, but they do their job well.

You're really wasting our time for $2?

You're really wasting YOUR time for $2?

Please just get a life.

If you think the Raybestos is inferior to Centric (which I doubt) then the choice is clear. If you don't think that, on an essential safety component like brakes, why why why just wreck already lol.

Seriously, it's never worth $2 to settle for a lesser brand. $100 maybe, depends on what it is. $2? You cannot afford to own a car.

I never bought cardone before but I figured $28 for a coated rebuilt caliper with bracket and no core charge was worth a try on my daily driver. It's been 2 months and the front brake temps are within 2f of each other so all is good so far. It just does not seem profitable.
