Why are 2x4 studs not 2 inches by 4 inches? One is the nominal and the other is the rated CCA. Go by the lower figure if that helps you sleep better at night. I've often had a battery on a maintainer for a few days that then tests at 50 or 100 CCA above the label.
$150? Oh hell no! I'd shove one of these in there for $60 and send it.

I am pretty sure those date stickers are added in the store, or maybe a warehouse somewhere.It tested at 500 CCA but is rated for 470
Those date stickers are certainly questionable now. That definitely wasn't manufactured in Nov '22.

It's got the hydrometer eye. I haven't seen an aftermarket battery with a hydrometer eye in decades.

Nope, but if it's for a Honda, I've used this for $30.
They make an identical one with 300 CCA. No problem in a 4 cylinder above 20°F or so.
Very weird that the front label says 470CCA because the website has a front label that says 500CCA and google images also shows a 500CCA label as far back as 2016.

That’s a LOT of money for a 500 CCA, or a 470 CCA, battery-AGM prices can’t be too much higher. What’s a NAPA Proformer 51R go for in CA?

I suspect it comes down to volume. It's not a common battery except with Hondas, if I'm not mistaken.
