Caterpillar Oil at Blain's

JD oil at least in the Midwest is blended by some company in Iowa. A driver I was talking to years ago while he was delivering bulk oil said he would go on a road trips there with a tanker to pick up oil for the bulk truck.
Check out the JD oil in the VOA section.

So you are confirming it is not made by John Deere... thanks!

Without analysis how does anyone know if it’s the same as Mobil Super. I assure you that the John Deere branded oil is not the same oil that you can get from any of the major refiners/packagers. Most in this thread sound like women at a beauty shop gossiping.
And you seem like the target market for the oil.

We use thousands of gallons of this stuff a year at work in close to 600 pieces of earth moving equipment and class 8 trucks. We used to use delvac 1300 exclusively, purchased from a Cat dealer. We then switched to the “Cat” branded 15w40 as they could discount it further. According to our Caterpillar rep, the oil is exactly the same as delvac 1300, just rebottled.

Now we know.

I bet its marketed towards the same people that buy Caterpillar oil and fuel filters for their 1997 Powerstroke or Cummins.

Northland

I have used and sold tons of northland oil. Hydraulic, diesel, and gas, until we switched to viscosity.

We were using CNH and Northland, now we are a Viscosity dealer. Viscosity used to make the oil for CNH for about 50 years until they switched to Shell a couple years ago. Viscosity kept the patents/formulations for the CNH oil they were making, and its way cheaper than northland or CNH too.
