I have access to a large amount of Cat ELC coolant. http://www.cat.com/cda/files/165927/7/PEHJ0067.pdf

I am do for a coolant change in my 2003 Subaru WRX, and am curious to the sutability of the ELC in my car. I DO have factory Subaru coolant, in addition to the additive Subaru wants us to use, so avoiding dealer costs is not the issue for me. I like to use the best of the best so if it was YOUR car, what would YOU use?

Cat,Subaru,Peak,Toyo,BMW yadda yadda.... Plus, regardless of coolant, it is fully flushed of old coolant every 30k.

stick with a coolant chemistry that you know is designed and tested in your all aluminum coolant system engine, Subaru.
a maxed out small block with thin alum cyl. walls such at the Sub pancake is not the place to be experimenting with different coolants

changing coolant chemistry in mid stream on an alum. engine can be playing with fire. some of the coolant chemicals bond to the metals and cannot be flushed out by over the counter products.
any old coolant will work fine in a US cast iron boat anchor engine.

CAT uses a specific chemical additive in their coolant to help prevent wet sleeve cavitation, fairly common to diesel wet sleeve engines
haven't seen many Subs with an inline cast iron block V8 diesel with wet sleeves weighing in at over 8,000 lbs.

most owners of these expensive big diesels run a CA every 6 months to year on a maint. sked. and don't rely on the coolant manuf's claims of 600,000 miles/ 12,000 hrs. etc.

best and cheapest coolant advice, use deionized water or the manuf premix
