C'mon guys, this is BITOG. You should be arguing about addpack compatibility, VI/VII and the four kinds of lubrication in rare circumstances, not just throwing out boring common sense!

I trust more the product of big oil companies & blenders because they know what there doing, compared to random people doing home made mix in their basement, do what u want but why make things more complicated, its easy, buy the oil, change it, done. Nothing is boring, its just common sens... my two cents.
Boring is good in this instance. Over the years I have seen many discussions of mix this with that to in an effort to create the magic brew since mid 2003 when I first began to surf this site,
After having read and experimented with a number of 5w50's, 5w40's and 5w30's, 5w60, 20w60's in the same engine I am happy to retire to OEM recommendations and OEM approved oils.
