Landing with the pontoons extended must be really tricky. If it's not horizontal you could touch a pontoon with - interesting - consequences.
We were looking at an original Catalina/Canso yesterday. I was told they retracted the pontoons when landing.

I'm surprised they're still in business, thought they'd of been consolidated by the General Dyanmics-Borg...
I really don't know who their customers will be. Seaplane operation is fraught with corrosion and wave risk. Maybe they can re-open the Marine Air Terminal at LGA, in NY.
I will go for any aircraft with a bathroom .

One of the most beautiful aircraft every made IMHO.
Consolidated PBY Catalina is a pre war 1930 design whereas the Grumman Albatross is improved post war 1940 design...
