Please ladies and gentlemen keep it civil I do not want another thread locked. I went ahead with the citrus suggestion and there is no doo in my front yard and the closest I have seen a cat was two houses down on either side. My terrier did not wake me up last night like he does when a animal is near my front yard. YES!

But when I came home tonight listening to one of my favorite Eric Clapton songs on the radio when I pulled around to the street where my house located on I saw someone with a LED flashlight looking in all the yards on my block. When I got out I realized it was one of the neighbors that owns two of the cats in question. From what I can gather the male cat is missing. Well I can say I do not feel sorry for her but I have posted earlier there are apex predators around here and a "domesticated" cat that is allowed free reign is just not responsible ownership IMO.

There is more to the story however from the conversation the female neighbor was having with her significant other I guess the male is the father of a litter of kittens! Yay!

At least the citrus suggestion seems to be working for me. Also to whom has "feelings" that the cats are innocent in the matter. I do not hold any ill will to the animals but by the same token I do not allow my dog to do his business in another person's propriety so I expect the same from other pet owners.

Also wild animals doing their business in my yard I have no problems at all my yard was their habitat long before I arrived. Cats owned by irresponsible owners different story.

I am a big cat lover, but I think you are handling the situation humanely. And I do not believe in letting housecats roam either, unless you end up taking care of one that was let outside by previous owners.

I couldn't agree more. It's too bad that so many other pet owners don't have any sense of responsibility.

.22 CB Shorts.. They are about as loud as an air rifle.

I'd get ahold of the neighbor. If that does not work, get the city/ town board involved. I know people who have done the same thing and the city was in their favor.

I'm going to guess that the happy face after the .22cb ammo comment means that it's a joke? Even if it's in bad taste.

I find this interesting.

I have a stray cat that lives under my tool shed. He is the most muscular cat I've ever seen in my life. Even though he isn't mine, I've kinda grown attached to him in an odd way as his attitude is "me he cat, you not."

Next to my shed I've worked up a little spot as a seed bed where I will be planting grapefruit seeds in the next few days, (going to use them for rootstock for citrus trees on heavy soil - something I read in a book published in 1914). I wonder if the little grapefruit trees, (when they break the soil) will run my he man cat away?

Your neighbor is an idiot for allowing fertle cats to roam. Id get the neighbors name, number and the cats name. Trap the cat and take it to a vet. Ask to have in neutered and put the neighbors name and number on the work order. That way they get a call to go get there cat and they get the vet bill too. Once neutered most cats stay in there own yard.

I have sprayed lemon juice around the perimeter of my yard a 12 oz bottle. Also grapefruit juice sprayed around the front structure of the house.

Last night after I posted my update I went outside for a smoke. After having a LED flashlight flashed in my face my neighbor confirmed that the male cat is missing. She apologized for flashing a light in my face I told her no worries and wished her the best of luck.

I have no idea if the cat has been found.

Yes it was a joke.

I doubt that a tree will make a cat leave. Cats might not like citrus products though because they will interfere with their sense of smell. But first the citrus product must be open to the atmosphere. I have known people with orange trees who had cats. The cats did not seem to mind.

Another update. I saw the male cat in the neighbors driveway trying to ambush some doves. But the neighbors left this morning and they are home now but I do not know if they are aware their little guy was around.

Just letting everyone know, it has been a little over a week no cats in the yard. Now the offending cats hang out in the yard across the street. Success!
