One of my cats, who shall remain nameless (Enzo!) decided to urinate on my luggage. I call it a "suitcase" but it is basically a glorified jumbo dufflebag made of nylon with ridgid internal support. The bag itself was a little over $100 which is a lot to me so I would like it salvage it if possible.

I sprayed it down well with "natures miracle urine destroyer for cats" then hosed it off. Still very stinky. I was thinking to hit it again with a full gallon of the stuff the urine destroyer, let it soak, spray it off at the carwash (more pressure + soap) then drench in Febrezze.

Does anyone else have any suggestions? Or anyone want to buy a little odiferous suitcase?

sell the cat to buy another duffle.

Once you get done hosing it down, put it out in the sun. The UV really will help eliminate the odor.

Agreed. A day or two sitting in the hot sun will help a lot.

Remove the internal support and put it into the biggest front-loading commercial washing machine on the hot cycle with laundry detergent and bleach.

Then, get rid of those cats.

I've found that the Nature's miracle works better when you can completely saturate and soak the affected area. Simply spraying on the surface doesn't sound like it'd get into the fibers enough. I wonder if the outdoorsmen store would have something to combat the odors if the pet store stuff doesn't work.

If i were you i would soak it in oxi clean or the other stuff you mentionned. Obviously bleach will mess it up (im assuming its not a white duffle bag) and you can run it through a commercial washer with tide (or any detergent containing enzymes)
You can also try color safe bleach.. But id do that as last resort. Let us know what you try and tell us the results. Good luck!!

Kitty Scram sold at vacuum cleaner stores is the best of that kind of stuff. Smells like bubble gum.

Read the directions, but I believe you should saturate the effected areas. Borrow one of the special lights from NCIS (TV show) and it will show where the cat pee'ed. (Or maybe that was just semen or blood)!

I say try dawn dishwashing detergent. They have one that says its like an overnight soak in only five minutes. That stuff does very well with killing odors instantly on dishes and even smelly gladware.

We bought one of those black lights when the cat peed on the couch to see the damage. Despite using every urine treatment, that cat peed on couch again. Replaced couch, peed on that one. Peed on third replacement couch. It was professionally cleaned. Even if you get it clean your cat may want to pee on it again. In our case it was an emotional response. I was out of town for a week and when I returned the couch was soaked. That last time there was a guest that slept on the couch. The cat peed on it while the guest was watching him. You may need to try some cat psychology to prevent problems in the future.

I had a cat once that ruined a bedroom....peed on the carpet and mattress many times....had the car per cleaned professionally and she still did it. My daughter took her to her place where Sly was the only cat and the problem disappeared.....we guessed she was just jealous of the other cats at out house and was just acting out.

I had a similiar problem with my cat a week ago. But she threw up on the carpet and left a hairball. Always nice to come home to that. Removed the mess I could with a paper towel. Then vacuumed. Used a carpet rake to loosen the stuff up a bit. Then I sprayed the remainder with Blue Magic Carpet Spot Remover. I was very impressed with this stuff. Just spray on and let sit 15 seconds if still wet or 30 seconds if dry. Then blot with clean dry cloth. Spot still there, spray some more and dab. One good soaking the first time took care of it. Bought the stuff at Autozone.

^ So much better than the ones that foam. Then it looks like a glob of shaving cream sitting there. This stuff foams a little but quickly disappears.

Try Anti Icky Poo. But like Nature's Miracle, you need to saturate the area of the stain and let it sit for 24-48 hrs for the bacteria to do it's job. I highly recommend buying a blacklight so that you can see the stain and know where to apply the solution.

And as others have said, something upset your cat to make him/her do that or it could also be a urinary tract problem, especially if it's a male cat. Be sure you look into that.

From the Nature's Miracle Site:
"When you apply the product the odor does become stronger as it dries the odor goes away and that can take up to 2 weeks".

If you rinse it off I don't think it's going to work well.

On the show My Cat from [censored] with Jackson Galaxy last night they had a cat [censored] on as the guest of honor. I guess they were able to turn things around for the better. My friend told me about the show. That episode maybe posted on youtube by now.
