Just picked up some fuel filters for my truck ( Running the CAT 2 micron for first time)and saw they have some CAT Ci4+ 15-40 oil. ANybody use it??? Looks like the good ol CI4+ stuff. They said they are going to keep it that way for a while. I am currently running John Deere +50 CI4 but they are going CJ soon. SO anybody used this oil? Results?

Cat oil used to be Mobil Delvac, but I don't know if it still is or not.
How long do those 2 micron filters last? I've thought about using one on my Cummins but I don't know if it can pull fuel through one and I dont want to get stuck on the side of the road with a plugged filter.
I have a STOCK fuel system and have absolutely ZERO problems with fuel pressure. The 2 micron units usually last 10,000 miles and I change the Primary filter at 3-5,000 when I change the oil. My fuel pressure gauge located at the Inlet to the CP3 is always at 10-12 Psi which is plenty of pressure. SOme guys change the 2 micron every 30,000 miles. MIne every 10,000

I've had the Cat 2 micron filter in my '06 Duramax LBZ since new and I change it out every 30K miles. It is a huge filter with lots of media so flow is not a problem for me - no lift pump required even with my chip. If you ever plug this thing, consider yourself fortunate, as the injectors on these motors are north of $3000 for a set and you just saved them. That's why I put this filter on in the first place. You can always carry a spare - they're a breeze to change out compared to the OEM and cost less than 1/2 the oem filter. Here's the kit I got:

The Caterpillar website, in the past at least, described this filter as suitable for 250 hours in a Class 8 application. By estimating how many gallons of fuel those engines consume per hour, I figured my Golf could go 100k miles before a filter replacement. But I always get tired of waiting, so I always replace it earlier.
