That would be overly cautious (presuming the engine is in decent operating condition), and a huge waste of money. 6k miles is easily doable on any quality conventional oil, let alone the 4k miles the OP indicated was his self-imposed outer OCI limit.

Morris, where I live the Valvoline is CJ4. And that is the case with all other brands in the stores.
So, did an oil change yesterday and used Delo 15-40 CJ4 I had in the garage. The old oil had a tick over 4000 miles on it.
Is Rotella T-6 a synthetic oil? If so, Dnewton3 is right - with my 4000 mile (sometimes less) oil changes, in S.Calif., I do not think I need it.
Now, if I add a Frantz one day, and extend the intervals... The thing is I do not like adding stuff on my truck for no reason, like a big bling jewelry. And adding all the extra hoses under the hood does not make me feel better. I want to cut that [censored] to a minimum- less chance of leaks and busting hoses. That could be a nightmare if it happens while driving.
