Well, I opened it up. It's got a nice smell! I chickened out of using it in the wife's CR-V. I put in all GTX 5W30. That's the first dino I've put in it since my courtesy oil change when I finished the break-in! And you can tell. Beautiful in there w/ not a bit o' varnish at 63,000 miles.

Anyway, I thik I will try it in the Saab. I just need to finish all this AutoRx stuff.

You wanna talk cult, Rotella has a cult. I work for the Forest Service and I can't tell you how many empty gallon jugs of rotella I find in the woods and on the side of the road.

I think it must be a law that any skidder, loader, hydro-ax or any other piece of timber harvesting machinery must use Rotella. Needless to say, I see it a lot. If it's on our land on one of our sales, we can (and often do) make them come back and get it.

Anyway, now that tection is on sale, maybe I'll see it! LOL.

Does anybody think this would make a good boat oil. My dads boat has a 5.7 in it with less than 100 hours. Also if the boat is started it is going to run atleast 30 minutes. Of that 30 minutes it is a good gusses I woulod say that most likely 10 of them are going to be spent at 3000 rpms or above. The boat get about 40 hours of use a year.

I bought a bunch of the Tection Extra due to the $5/gal sale at Advance Auto and sent in the Castrol rebates already. If we get back the money, it works out to $3 a gallon for what seems like a really decent oil for temps above 20 deg.F I'll use it in the tractor and older cars and trucks around here. Best deal I've seen in awhile besides gas @1.85/gal here today!
