Castrol Syntec 5w20 vs 0w30

Car calls for 5w20. Now is there any difference in the chemistry of the "Made in Germany" 0w30 and 5w20? Would the car notice a difference bewteen the 2.

Yes, the 5w20 is nothing like the 0w-30 AFAIK. Different animal. 5w20 will give you better mpg all things being equal.

Two totaly different oils. Use the 5W-20, like your car calls for. And yes, you would probably notice a difference between the two, and GC is a full 3 cst thicker at 100 C...

The 0w30 is 3cst thicker? Shouldnt it be a 0w40 then?

it is almost a 40WT. Right at the border. A very thick 30wt.

Agreed. Syntec 0w-30 is very nearly a 40-weight. It'd work well, but I wouldn't use it in your case.

I think I will be buying like 15 qts of Castrol 5w20 and 3 Kn filters. I believe I have $20 off on my next autozone purchase to.

Castrol does have Syntec 0W20, if it is available at your Autozone store it would be better choice than 5W20.
