Unfortunetally, the data sheets don't provide any meaningful data what-so-ever.

Someone should tell Castrol that the NA 0w30 doesn't list A3 on the bottles.

Would anyone be into sending off a VOA of some NA 0w30 to see if anything has changed? I'd like to think they are going to be the same sometime soon.

I just spent 45 minutes looking it over - there are a bunch of odd looking numbers on the PDS's, so either they're measuring differently or they've just taken delivery of the site content from the contractor and now they have to sift through it and fix it so it's accurate.

MOST of the HTHS specs are low compared with what I'd expect (GC at 2.9, Syntec 5w-50 at 3.7 and RX Super 15w40 at 3.7). Also a lot of links go nowhere, so while the new site looks good, the content may be unreliable until they get a chance to verify it all.

The HT/HS for Syntec 5W-50 is 4.5 and for the "German" Syntec 0w30 the HT/HS is 3.6. I don't know why it is so difficult for Castrol to make accurate tech data sheets.

And, check out the change (for the worse, IMHO) in the new Syntec: old Syntec 10w30 had a HT/HS rate of 3.1. The newer, and supposedly better, Syntec 10w30 has a rate of 2.9

I used to be a Castrol enthusiast, but mo mas....

Don't know, but perhaps these Castrol numbers are accurate? From the spec sheet for Pennzoil Synthetic Oil:
5w30 HTHS: 3.07
5w-50 HTHS: 4.29

I think whomever created these tech data sheets has no idea what they are doing. 2.9 cSt is the minimum HT/HS viscosity allowed for an oil that is rated ACEA A5/B5 and I think when this batch of tech data sheets were created they simply put the minimum number allowed even if that was not the correct number.

The Castrol web site seems to be a work in progress. The detailed tech data sheets we are talking about seem to be gone. Perhaps they will be corrected and put back on their web site later.

The only tech data sheet that is on the Castrol site at this time is the one that 94MaxGXE, has a link to at the top of this thread. Castrol Syntec

Gee, I don't think that the 20w-50 is thick enough. It's "only" 19.7 cST@100C.

Good to see it is SM rated, though.
