Does Syn blend (50/50) oil run off the conventional oil change interval? 5000km or every 3 months whichever comes first?

I was planning on doing every 5000km but I dont drive a lot and that is 4-5 months driving for me. So would that be too long? Was told conventional is changed every 3 months regardless of mileage because it breaks down quick and water and gas gets inside.

Of course, that depends on the application. 5,000 km/3 months is short by modern standards, regardless of whether it's conventional, a blend, or synthetic. On an older vehicle (i.e. carb days) or under certain operating conditions, it might be more sensible.

So, depending on the application, the syn blend should be able to go longer than 5,000 km. That's assuming, of course, you're not driving a few blocks at a time, that the vehicle doesn't specify synthetic from the factory, and that it's not an engine known for sludging or massive fuel dilution.

Told from who? What source?
Blends are not usually 50/50. There is no requirements for the percentages for a blend. Could be 30% like valvoline maxlife or 60% like motorcraft. Hard to tell since Castries pds and msds are bleak.

I would consider it a 5,000 miles (not kilometers) oil minimum in most applications, and it's likely safely capable of much more than that.

There are virtually no used oil analysis on it here, so I'm currently working on generating some more hah hah.

Yeah, a blend could have 10 percent synthetic, just as long as it has some.

Still, it's a good oil. If you're under warranty, you should follow the manufacturer recommendation.

If you're out of warranty, you might should still follow the manufacturer to be safe. Otherwise, if you want to go further, a quality product like yours, 5000 miles (instead of 5000 km) seems reasonable indeed and a nice number to start at. Don't worry about the "time," again, unless you're under warranty and are trying to cover all your basis. In general, unless you're pushing it a very extended amount of time (year or more), 5000 miles or 5000 km, shouldn't matter if it is 3 months or 7 months.
