I got a great deal on some Castrol GTX (dino)5w20 on a price match as my Quaker State was sold out again that was on sale but its been years i used the GTX.SOPUS has great add packs and Castrol has low numbers on theirs. Has anyone have good luck on the GTX or am i just being too picky

For the overwhelming majority here and elsewhere, oil is oil is oil is oil......... ad nauseam......

A friend of mine is convinced every other oil in the world causes sludge except gtx. He runs it in his honda with an orange can for 8-10k. It currently has 250k miles on it. All he has ever done to it is change the plugs and timing belt. Its not pretty looking in the fill hole but the car runs great!

Tell him to repeat and rinse with the GTX.
Using a real oil like PU will cause no end of issues on that barely broken in Honda....

Shoot this cat is too cheap to do an extra oil change. He decides to change his oil based on mpg. He drives around 150 miles a day to work and back and calculates his mpg at every fill up. When it drops 3 mpg he changes the oil. He has never changed the atf and only changed the air filter and plugs once. That car is bullet proof!

Thankyou to all who have chimed in to help me ..i will do my oil change tommorow with the GTX and not worry LOL..wish me luck when Quaker State go's on sale in a few months by Walmart.Sale was on for 12.88 for the 4.73 jugs and i went to buy it late afternoon it was ALL gone like the last time..im happy for what i have and thanks again guys

I'd not hesitate to use GTX. After all...John Force uses it

. But I'd only use a WIX or Napa Gold (WIX) filter. No orange filters or even OEM...except certain Motorcraft filters. Fleetguard is OK too.

I wouldnt ever use CASTROL after their lawsuit b.s. and syn thing they did. I would 2nd sm00thpapa on the MS5K, as I wont pay $16 or close to it for castrol.
