Castrol GTX 5w20 in 5.4l f150

Bought a crap load of 5l jugs of GTX 5W20 on sale at Walmart, it will be the first time using dino in this engine, good performer or no?

BTW, could'nt find any UOA's on this stuff in a 5.4l.

It's a good oil.

I think you'll like it. Do a UOA when your done and lets see!

Just about EVERY 5w-20 is good oil...20 wts generally have to be pretty robust. To top it off, GTX is a good oil also, so:

GTX = good, 5w-20 = good (for your Ford)

5w-20 GTX = doubly good

Is it true that most 5w20 dino oils contain *some* Group III base oil to meet Honda/Ford specs?

Very good oil, very good engine. It should be a nice combination.

Good, I'm very happy now. I have had full syn in the truck for the past couple years now, all kinds ranging from castrol 5w30 to M1 0w20 and they performed pretty good except with loud valve clatter from the M1. This GTX is 1/3 of the price compared to the syn's and I stocked up on MC filters that were on sale at the stealership of all places, so I'm good to go for the next couple of years anyways. I wil try to get a UOA done but where can I get a kit up here in Calgary Canada?
