Castrol Extend

Has anyone heard anything about Castrol Extend? The information I saw said:

So what do you think the Sludge Fighter component is? Great marketing I might add but should've come out a little sooner when Toyota was having the problems. It didn't say what specs it met or anything like that.

I use Castrol "high mileage" oil in a Merc GM with 140K miles on it. Using standard oil at that mileage meant that I had to add a quart at every fill up. Now I can go 5,000 mi between changes without using any oil. I recommend it to every Ford and Merc high mileage owner that I encounter, and many have come back and commented about solving their oil consumption problems.

I only give that as an example of Castrol products doing what they claim that they will do.

The same stuff in HDEO oils.

Those high mileage oils are simply higher viscosity oils that use higher viscosity base fluids.

Hi MolaKule. I have 5qts of the SM/GF-4 Castrol GTX 5w30 that can go into the 97 Stratus V6. Would you use it, or choose something different? It's on it's first dose of Mobil 1 5w30. Also, it's only getting colder, nearing 0'F this OCI. Or, if you will tell, what oil do you prefer or use in your engines? Maybe the SM/GF-4 GTX is mostly a group III... Thanks!
