Castrol EDGE 8 X better Wear Protection than Mobil

My $.02 - Castrol's new "Edge" oil and it's associated marketing, isn't going to make a ding in sales of M1. If I was in charge of marketing at ExxonMobil, I wouldn't be losing any sleep (although I would probably treat this as a "crisis" at work - gotta play the game...).

I am going to try it this week. I am going to send some new oil to user postjeeprcr, who has a new UOA/VOA kit. He is going to send in a VOA and after 3 OCI I am going to send in a UOA.

Stopped by Advance today and they have the Valvoline sign up now as well:

So the Mobil 1 attack is being waged on two fronts two feet apart.

They have Mobil 1 Extended performance priced at $8.89 and the new Castrol EDGE at $8.69. The Valvoline is on sale so it's 2 X less expensive.

Except for their, AA specials,why would anyone buy their overpriced oil? where I live they are $1.75 to $2.00 higher a quart than WM.

Went a AAP today to pick up my 5w30 Edge.
Good I got there when I did. The clerk said that they sold over half there stock just today!
I paid 7.99 a quart. So I will see what happens. Again, I will be sending a member here some oil for him to send a VOA in of 5w30. I will be sending a UOA in once I get a few OCI of edge.

yea until I see good voa and uoa, id be weary. These guys are the pioneers of pseudo synthetics after all.
Also its not hard to take one facet of a battery of tests and build that up, what if the rest of the battery of tests were below.
Its easy to take one measurement like supertech has 25% lower pour point than mobil 1, does this mean mobil 1 equals [censored] and supertech blows it doors off in every aspect.... doubtful ************BY THE WAY THIS WAS HYPOTHETICAL INFORMATION BY THE WAY NOT FACTUAL********************
At $7-8.50 a quart I'd rather run redline or amsoil as well. Not trying to hate, just skeptical and would like to see the price come down

This whole Castrol Edge release is like Christmas all over again.

The stuff is too rich for my blood...but I excited to see what it's all about. I have high expectations for this stuff. We shall see.

I have a buddy with a Dodge Ram 1500. He is the biggest Syntec fanboy...I'm curious if he will start using this stuff now.
