I'll have to go examine my stock to see what has Titanium and what hasn't...I have the bad habit of grabbing a jug every time I'm at Walmart and it's on special.

Could just be measuring deviation. You can test the exact same sample a dozen times and all the numbers will never match. Nonetheless even if it really was 978 zn and 886 phos that's still fine. It does have 74 of moly. I don't know if it's trinuclear but it's 2024 so it probably is instead of the older dinuclear which needs to be in much higher quantities to be productive whereas with trinuclear the benefits drop off after 75.

Yea, it has been out of stock at Walmart for quite some time. I got mine from Amazon for $30 two weeks ago.

Thanks for posting! I've added it to the VOA Database. Other than the silicon, it's almost identical to the 5W40 version of this oil. Silicon is 13ppm vs 6ppm on the 5W40.

Yeah, API SP + LL01 is the main reason why I'm trying this oil. I know LSPI is rare in B46TU1, but I just want to be on the safer side

Zinc oxide is not the functional anti-wear agent in the compound - it is instead the dithiophosphates. The zinc is just there to "neutralise" the dithiophosphoric acid so it is not corrosive.

So look for the P's ppm

I know this has been beaten to death, but is there any significant difference with M1 0W40 now? Here the Castrol is always a few $ more expensive, any reason to pick one over the other?

Castrol Edge 0w-40 A3/B4 seems to be more in common with Mobil's 0w-40 FS Euro.

Here's what I see:

• Mobil 1 shows a HTHS (3.8) while Castrol does not.
• Mobil 1 is higher starting visc. 13.8 vs 13.3
• Mobil 1 has higher VI
• Mobil 1 has lower pour point
• Mobil 1 has higher flash point

I think you know what I'd choose but if the price was right the Castrol is still a good choice. Throw in a Mobil rebate it's an easy decision. Here are their respective PDS's.

Where do you see the HTHS? I only see it for ESP X3/X4 0W-40.

Woops, You're correct. ESP shows the 3.8 HTHS & not FS I linked so they're both even on that one.

Makes you wonder, mixing this with older Euro Castrol 0w40 (SN). I assume nothing is going to blow up, but sure is different (older had Ti, low boron, no? Moly, hi Calcium, low Mg).
