Gold bottle edge has titanium in it whereas black bottle does not..to me it seems they just adjusted their products to meet a reg oci and a longer one.
OP, If you buy from Canadian Tire, I believe they usually both go on sale and I think the Gold is about 4-5$ more per jug. That said, both will be more than fine for a 10k interval.
