Oil was not up to operating temp, just a short 7 drive to post office (stop and go) Moisture visible under oil cap.

This engine doesn't like GC IMO. Look at that increase in both iron and lead since your change to GC. FWIW--Oldtommy

I noticed that as well, going to have to find another Autozone Special I can run. Maybe PP or go back to M1. Only have 1qt left of the 0w-30, I can use that as a topper oil.

Your TBN is getting dropped sometimes after as low as 4K. Looks like 7-8K is a sensible limit. What is the recommended oil viscosity and OCI?

Am I reading this wrong or did the runs of Amsoil ATM have the lowest TBN between the 3 oils used? I believe ATM is a 12/mo - 25K oil but in this application I do not think to it would go that distance. Again, am I reading this wrong?

Looks like you or your engine are tough on oils. Since you tried GC 0W-30 have you considered trying M1 0W-40?

5w-30 and 5k is the stock oci.
Main difference on the GC oils is I am runing and amsoil EA air filter, before that it was a stock Toyota filter.

AMSOil and M1 both gave better reports. but millage was less. I should do a ppm/per 1k mile driven.

Bullet whats the specs on your taco.
Mine 05 double cab, 4x4, short box, standard shift.

I have PU 5w20 in my 2007 T4R with the 4.0L. Now I am a bit worried. I think after our 5k/6mon OCI, I will get the oil tested.

For what it is worth, the oil feels and sounds and the engine responds really, really well.

2006 prerunner double cab automatic v6. There is another post I made using 10w30 semi synthetic Tropartic which the TBN was reduced quick.
