Castor oil was used in WW1 airplane engines.
Worked quite well. ETC.

Castor oil works best in high temp. high load applications. That's why is used in racing application but not in everyday use.

It has very high flame point and it runs dirty at average temperatures, it cannot burn fully. It fouls 2-stroke spark plugs easily even when used at .5-1% if the engine doesn't run high enough RPM and high enough cylinder temperatures.

Yes, Castrol brand name came out after castor oil. It literally combines the two words into one.
