Cartridge Bypass Stuck Open/Closed?

I have a question about oil in a cartridge housing (vs spin on canister)

How would I know if the bypass is stuck open or closed? With a canister, you basically put a brand new bypass on, so if it's stuck, it would only be stuck for one OCI, right?

The cartridge filter system could have the bypass in the cap, the block, or somewhere else.

Older GM cars put a bypass in the block even with spin-on filters. For example, the ACDelco PF47 doesn't have a bypass because the engine already has a bypass in the block (same goes for the Wix 51040, Fram 3387a, Purolator 10111, etc).

A stuck bypass almost never happens

Gotcha, thanks for the information guys. I have a 2015 Camaro with an LFX V6 that uses the cartridge filter. I wonder where the bypass is on that
